PTA
All parents are automatically members of the PTA and are warmly invited to attend the meetings, which are held every month in the staff room. Just turn up!
All the Christmas events raised approximately £1300.
But where does the money go?
The Christmas money, plus all that raised from cake sales, film nights, quiz nights and, of course, the Summer fete, goes towards extras for the children and school that wouldn’t normally be within the realms of the school budget.
Over the last 2 years the PTA money has been spent on:
o Light and sound equipment in the main hall
o A digital camera for every class
o New reading scheme for the entire school
o Overhead projectors for the classrooms.
o Construction of ‘Shady Birch’ on the playground
o Fruit for the children at SAT time
o New literacy/numeracy text books
Recently the money has been used on:
o New headphones in the Library
o Wet play games and football cones
o Embroidering the Sainsbury’s Voucher sport tops with the school logo and name
o Line dancing competitions
The nursery have not been ignored:
o New Christmas costumes for the nativity play
o CD Player
o Outside chalk board
Once again many thanks from the PTA!
